My name is Alexander Kardanovskiy, I am a recent graduate of the B.Arch Program at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles, CA.
This portfolio is a representation of my five years of undergraduate studies in architecture, including an internship. As an aspiring architect and a former SCI-Arc student, I aim through my work to challenge the definition of successful contemporary architecture.
"Absorb the world around you but always stay true to yourself."
This mindset closely relates to my work ethics. Within my projects I enjoy taking risks and going against the flow, thus, enhancing my experience. However, despite enjoying architectural experiments, I strongly believe in the power of simplicity and accessibility of architecture. Instead of relying on visual complexity and close-to-impossible construction, I prefer to skip the distracting wrapping and focus on the usability of the space.
I see the recipe for a good architectural project consisting of two principal ingredients: a well thought-out structure combined with a clean, yet bold design.
